Rather than show what you DID buy, maybe also show what you did NOT buy -
either because it was too expensive, or too damaged, and so on ...

A wonderful token to start with. Asking £450 but maybe if it was £100 I would buy it ...

'Halfpenny token 18th century - Bayly's crocodile rattlesnake - Middlesex D&H#253'

I would not buy this (£25) as it is holed, unfortunately ...

'Latin medallion Caesare Subscribente Die III Nov MDCCXXIII 1723 silvered 27.7mm'
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
I saw this recently, and did not bid as it already had many bids, and sold for £275 ...

'1795 Skidmore's Brighton Mule Conder Halfpenny D&H 9'

Lastly, for now, I put an early bid on this but it sold for £79.45 ...

Great thread; if I had to list all the things I would've, but did not buy for whatever reason i could fill up an encyclopedia. :D But here are the ones I kick myself over the most:

A Weimar 3RM that went past my maximum "willing to pay price"; looking back it might have been an impaired proof, which might explain the bidding, but I still wouldn't have liked to pay more than 150 euro absolute max for the type:

French 5 francs from Toulouse that went for about half of book value, the transitional type with "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" and "NAPOLEON EMPEREUR" on the same coin; was gonna bid 50 euro for it but at 10 seconds to go it jumped up to 100 euro:

Finally a bent gold Napoleon III 5 francs that was damaged; I would've bid but the bid went past my max (melt):

There was a gold byzantine coin (one of that curved-shape coins they made) that I saw last year.
It had Jesus in one side and the king on another (sorry, no photo or ID), super beautiful but waaay above my budget (it was 2.200 reais - around 550 euros). It really got my attention, and this topic made me remember of that coin.
I remember seeing a Scottish Alexander III farthing go for less than £5. I tried to bid on it but my terrible internet meant that my bid didn't go though in time.

The spink value for an Alexander farthing in fine condition is £150 to £175.
I could I had bought this for US$266.

I just now made two high bids, but still not enough ...

'Middlesex George III Conder Penny D&H 185 - struck in silver'

Even though it is a Penny token, it was made in silver.
Issued in 1788 as a 100-year 1688 anniversary.
George III obverse, William III reverse. Sold for £124 B.
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
This coin I won for a really low price for the type, but the dealer refused to send by unregistered mail and tried to bill me 40 euros for shipping:

Probably trying to recoup his losses, so I doubt I will be buying it unless he cuts the nonsense out. (;0
Just lost this auction- someone else beat my 35 USD upper limit at 2 seconds. :(

It sold for 36! :snif:

Damn, you should have bid more!
I saw this 1716 plate daler (not on numista) on ebay (auction) for around 600€, but decided not to bid on it. If I ever buy one I'd like it to be a rarer one though.
Well, I did my best....

Raised over $5000 in coin sales in the last month or so to frantically try to get this one.... Managed to put a bid in at the 'mid' estimate.

When the time came, I was some way off. It's truly magnificent though.
