Almost a half year ago I added 6 different roman coins to the Numista database.
But my coins did not get acceptet to the database yet because the pics have no white background.
My first question is: Why must have the pics a white background?
Second question is: Due to the fact that I do not know how to make a white background at the pic - why the administrator does not do it?
My opinion is that all online databases (Numista, colnect, zeno,...) must be happy that peoples makes pics from their coins and try to add them with all informations to the database. Thats much work for each coin.
In this way also other collectors can add their coins to this database too.
So I do not understand it why administartors does not add the coins to the database because there is no white background at the pic????
If it's just the uncropped pictures this is no reason for a rejection Could you publish the links of the coinpages?
Not the ones of the creation request but the ones were it looks like the a normal page after you clicked on the title of the coin.
You mention "not accepted yet" meaning they are still pending? If so, that's not related to pictures...there are currently no pending requests for Roman coinage.
Please give direct links for the pages of the coins rather than links of the modification which cannot be accessed as is.
You may also share screenshots of the "My request" page with the rejection comment (but if it was half a year ago I guess you don't see these requests anymore).

The requests were not rejected, referee just asked you for an edit to upload better pictures (i.e. with a white background) which makes sense..
In reply to your questions:
White background is way nicer visually than having various colors or designs. It also helps maintaining some consistency within catalogue rather than having "ugly" or "different" backgrounds on all pages.
It is also better to appreciate coin contrast (be it on website or mobile) and avoid confusion between some background colors and the coin itself (a black background for a black coin is not ideal to differentiate one from the other, specifically when lighting troubles added).
Referees cannot do all the work on themselves as it is very time-consuming. Consider only your 6 requests and imagine there are other members submitting several requests on the same day. Doing it all takes a lot of time to referees who are voluntarily working on the catalogue.
How to prevent these modification requests from referees?
Take pictures of your coins while placed on a white paper. No special ability required and pretty easy to achieve.
You may also have a look at this Numisdoc to help you crop the images you already have.
Finally you may also post on the forum your pictures and ask for help from other members who have the ability to improve images.

O.K.! I understand it. White background looks better.
But first...when I take pics with a white sheet in the back the pics will get very dark and the pic looks bad.
Second ...I know that its possible to make the background white after taking the pics. But I do not have such a program and I also does not know how it works?
In former times at other modern coins which I uploaded at Numista other moderators made the background of my coin pics white after uploading!
So my question is if its the turn of the moderator/administrator to make the background of the pics white?

Former or recent times, it is not a rule for referees to crop all pictures. Some referees have the time and abilities to do it, some don't. Numista is indeed based on community, so community help doesn't hurt...like cropping and putting white background beforehand.
Again, as in any community, before uploading you may just ask on forum for help (i.e. post pictures and aks for somebody's help to crop them).
White sheet or not you may just need to play with the light...if pic looks bad it may also come from the camera/phone rather than the white background.
Then, have a look at he link I posted above: the documentation was made on purpose. It gives you a link to download a free program (on various OS) to crop and transform pictures easily and it even shows you how to do it with illustration for each step!

I already downloaded the gimp program. I also checked the link. But there is not shown how to change the background of the pic into white colour! :(
It is the other way round - the background does not change to white, it is the coin that is cut
from the background, then by itself it automatically gets shown on a white background.
My examples, creating these 3 images just now, using a token I own ...
.................. before ................... /.................... after .................. / ..................... program ................
Admittedly I use the PhotoScape free program but the principle is the same. Also then when it
is cut from the background, it makes the coin larger, to the outside size the original image was.

Have a look at 5th image with related text for the process.
Once the coin is ready (selected and frame adjusted), you just create a new blank file and paste your cropped coin.

hi
white paper is essential during clear daylight, if taking puctures at night darker background may be a better choice. Why the pics get very dark is because your camera probably has automatic light adjustment and if focus was on white paper, it is expected, that camera adds less "light" to the picture, hence your coin looks like a space dark matter and picture may also not be sharp. 2 or 3 mm of edge of the coin being higher from background is enough for picture of thw coin being not sharp. Stay with white paper in the background, put between your coin something extra, like 3-4 cm of 4tip lego blocks, focus light exposure ON the coins itself and your picture will be what you want, with background so super white, no much work would be needed at cropping.
I see that many people tend to colour background white, for circular coins its awfully quicker to just circle it out and copy it into new frame. Program I use is Paint.NET.
