Many Precolumbian coins from Mexico show significant mintage variances from the more recent Whitman and Krause publications catalogs, due in part to coin varieties.
For example, the 1993-Mo Mexico Anciano Con Brasero has two varieties, one with the mintmark to the right, and the other with the mintmark to the left:

As these mintage tables show, the Numista mintage figures match the original paper by Don Bailey that had no variety attribution:

A source of these low mintage figures is almost without exception the Pre-Columbian Series Of NCLT Coins, 1992 – 1998 by the late Don Bailey, a distributor of Mexican coins, found online at http://www.moneta-coins.com/library/Mexico's%20Precolumbian%20Series%20-%20Bailey.pdf.
Don Bailey's distribution efforts in Mexican coins were so successful that the Casa Moneda de Mexico was able to move additional quantities of these coins. As an example, this 2005 document shows that none of the Pre-Columbian Series of coins had sold out by that date: http://donbailey-mexico.com/images/Catalogo_Monedas_150dpi.pdf
The Bank of Mexico cites Harper's North American Coins & Prices, a Krause publication, for its numismatic collection (http://www.banxico.org.mx/ColeccionNumismatica) of coins, the Catálogo en línea de la Colección Numismática del Banco de México.
However, use of Whitman Encyclopedia is recommended for the mintages for these varieties since the Krause publications make no mention of them.
Attentively,
