The Whitman Encyclopedia of Mexican Money Vol. 2 by Don and Lois Bailey (Whitman Publishing), ISBN 0794839541, page 379 describes the Basero Efigie on the reverse, as well as the national coat of arms of the obverse as being surrounded by Aztec glyphs for "hand."
