I love how the US never changed their currency so collectors can do this. In most European countries this would be impossible. I think it's a great idea. :)
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.

I doubt we would see many they would all have worn to a crisp and would have been scrapped by now.
You mean they would look like, this 1945 S silver war nickel I got from the vending machine last night

I have always had great hunting here.
It is, what it is, or is it.
Here are some of my other finds this month. A 1978 US 25 cent coin Were it has worn down to the copper

And this little gem I got free from a penny tray. At the gas station.

My little city is a great hunting grounds.
It is, what it is, or is it.
Just picked up up 17 Ike dollars at the bank. Don’t know if they were part of the hunt, but I’m happy.
I wish they'd release some old British Trade Dollars and Vicky 50 cents here in Hong Kong!
This needs to be a thing worldwide! Imagine the look on any beggar's face when he asks for a dollar!

Just make sure they take it to a coin shop first:P better not spend it as a dollar

You would be surprised.
Due to the value of the Euro (it's very atractive to pay 2 euro with 10 baht coin or Turkish lira). I do often find all kind of 1 and 2 euro look a like coins in my pocket money. UK pennies does go as 5 euro cent too.

In other words, don't forget to check your pocket money. :)
Cents are money too!
For us kiwis it was never old coins, but foreign coins. Since they used the same planchets, you could find Australian, Fijian or even Cook Islands or Samoan coins in circulation. Since 2006 that has stopped of course, but I suppose Australians could still find something.
Update : Sadly to date I have found nothing of real value or any W mint quarters despite going to my bank and going through countless rolls. I will keep trying though.

Same :(
I went through 6 or 7 boxes this month and nothing interesting other than an impaired proof and a rim cud. Got another box today, so fingers crossed.

Be kind to people. Sharing is Caring. Collect what you like and not by the Crowd.
To seek for perfection, it is too painful and there is a very high price to pay. To seek for something comfortable is more easy. To seek for nothing is even more easy.

It was the generic one. Looks like they are out in circulation now, so keep your eyes open.

I read somewhere online that you can ask the bank if they can order you the newest coins in the box from the mint. I will ask them when I go next time. You should too, worth a try.
