I have a short story to share. I opened a new swap with a collector from Romania. I selected 47 coins, the most valuable was a common commemorative 2€. He selected around 70, a lot of silvers, non circulating commemoratives with high face value included.
I told him that I don't agree. Then he reduced his selection to 47 as well, but he left in the swap all the high face value commemoratives and the silvers (including a Yuan Shikai dollar and a German thaler). So I cancelled the swap without further explanation.
Then he sent me this message both in Hungarian and English, probably translated with google translator:
"NAZIST, to fuck your family in your mouth! Well, you want to do me, I'm going through the weekly race through HUNGARY! :))) let your family die in the accident on the day of PATIENTS !!! Thief!"
I realised that he played with me all the way. That's why he selected my most valuable coins, that's why he gave me an unrealistic offer. We have never met in person, we know nothing about each other. But it worth him all his time and energy to insult me just because I was born in Hungary and he is from Romania and our countries had a troubled relationship more than 70 years ago (for historical background, search for "Treaty of Trianon" and "Second Vienna Award" in your browser).
I didn't answer to his last message and reported him to the administrators. I had many swaps with members from Slovakia, Croatia and Romania, all of them were honest and trustworthy collectors. In my experience, collectors are usually peace-loving and open-minded people who enjoy to own a little piece of history and share stories about their coins.
I've never thought that something like this could happen on Numista.
