The country the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved on 10/10/2010. During the existence of the Netherlands Antilles it was one of the countries that were part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands which then consisted of the independent countries: the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba.
The country the Netherlands Antilles itself used to consist of 5 islands: Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, Saba and Bonaire.
On 10/10/2010, the day the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved, Curaçao and Sint Maarten each became independent countries. Therefore the Kingdom of the Netherlands from then on consists of 4 independent countries: the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten.
Sint Eustatius, Saba and Bonaire became municipalities of the country the Netherlands. They introduced the US dollar as their currency.
Although the Netherlands Antilles as a country no longer exists, Curaçao and Sint Maarten continue to issue the coins of the Antillean guilder including the name "Netherlands Antilles". Plans to replace the currency have been delayed for almost a decade.
The coins that are currently being issued by Curaçao and Sint Maarten should not be counted as coins of the Netherlands either as these 2 countries too are only part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and not of the country the Netherlands.
So it is important to see the difference between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the country the Netherlands. Under 'the Netherlands' Numista only lists the coins of the country, not of the Kingdom.
That is true however, the KINGDOM of the Netherlands is an official country, the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten are not actual countries and more like independant regions of the kingdom

Sorry to revive an old topic but I'm curious to ask. If the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved in 2010 how did they keep minting coins past that date?
The currency has outlived its namesake, as it remains in use in two of the five former parts of the Netherlands Antilles. It was supposed to be replaced by a ‘new currency', replacing the old one at par and issued by the same central (although renamed) bank, but various political issues between Curaçao and Sint Maarten have held it up, as well presumably as simple inertia.
