Dear members,

I kindly seek your guidance and assistance: I have a 2011 5 rand coin of south africa, which I learn was designed for 90 anniversary of the South African Reserve Bank. I am also in possession of the rare euro coins which are as follows:

2 euro coin of 1999

20 cents euro coin of 1999 of Spain

50 cents euro coin of 2002 x 2

20 cents euro coin 2002 of Netherlands

50 cents euro coin of 2004

Kindly assist on where I can sell and how much would the value be.

Best regards.
Hi polliegirl and welcome to the forum!

'I have a 2011 5 rand coin of south africa, which I learn was designed for 90 anniversary of the South African Reserve Bank'

If yours is the circulating commemorative coin then it appears that the going price on ebay at the moment ranges from US $4 - $10 https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces24632.html (scroll to bottom)

With regards to your euro coins you will need to be more specific. A photo of both sides of each coin would be of great help.
Thank you for the warm welcome and for the guidance. Yes it is the circulating commemorative coin and have checked website you suggested. Thank you once again.

Euro coinage:
The grade of the coin is very important, but I think it is only the face value
Th €2 : is it position A or B?

I use this site to find information:

Thanks for the guidance. I have no knowledge at all about coins generally so can't say whether its position A or B . Where can I get the information on the positions? I will definitely check the site that you provided. Thanks
Sorry, I meant to say position A or B . My sincere apologies.

http://www.shop.filatis2.com/en/coins_info.html :

2 eurocoins, courante coins and commemoratives have a text or image on the edges. Mostly there are 2 versions, we call these Position A and Position B.
If there is a text on the edges:
Position A = Put the face value up (2 euro and map). If you can read the text it's Positie A.
Positie B = Put the face value up (2 euro and map). If the text is upside down it's Position B.
For coins with stars and number 2 (changing up and down) 2 ♠ ♠ 2 ♥ ♥ 2 ♠ ♠ :
Positie A = Put the face value up (2 euro and map). Pick a readable 2 and look at the start next to it on the right side. If the star has one pointy top, it's position A.
Positie B = Put the face value up (2 euro and map). Pick a readable 2 and look at the start next to it on the right side. If the star has two pointy tops, it's position B.
Portugal is different. You have small castles on the edges
Positie A = Put the face value up (2 euro and map). If the top of the towers point to the right, it's position A.
Positie B = Put the face value up (2 euro and map). If the top of the towers point to the left, it's position B.
This way there is a postion A or B with most of the 2 eurocoins. Some countries don't make a differens, like Malte, Estonia.

Thanks so much. I will have a look at them and follow your instructions. Thanks.

Does this Position A or B make a difference to the rarity/value of the 2 euro coin?
no it does not.
The coins are made, edge first, then the front and back are made, but that machine does not care how the planchet gets into the machine.
That is why there is a difference between A and B . No details are known about the mintage of both.
