Top Tier UK Coins Wanted

Looking for old or new swap partners who have good quality coins from Great Britain to exchange. North America preferred due to shipping costs however I'm willing to consider offers from reputable collectors anywhere in the world with reliable mail.

I'm happy to trade silver for more humble materials, maybe even gold for the right coins. No "silver for silver" rules but please don't assume that this means that I'll be swapping silver crowns for your unremarkable 10c junk bin finds. Trades are considered on their individual merits after taking into account shipping costs, risks, material etc. It's very important to me that you are also happy at the conclusion so let's get together and arrange a fair swap, eh?

So, let's get to the fun stuff....
  • Maundy Issues pre 1937. Full sets, individual coins or even empty cases (original).
  • Copper / Bronze. Mostly complete back to roughly 1880 so I'm looking for AU/UNC coins 1860 - 1900. VF or better pre 1860 and for pre 1797 coppers, well I'm far more flexible. F = great, VG = OK, G = maybe.
  • Silver. Pre 1910, VF or better apart from the genuine key dates. I'll take any 1905 1/2 crown I can find!

In exchange I have a swap list of over 2,500 distinct coins ranging in value from 25c to several $100s with a heavy bias towards silver coins. I have lots of stamps which I've never really got around to cataloging if that's your thing. Occasionally banknotes although these tend to get snapped up as soon as I find them. Old cheques, deeds and all kinds of vintage stuff along these lines, some of them with significant value.

In addition to the above I have a wide range of collecting interests. Coins from a few specific countries and periods, relics from the 3rd Reich (except ordinance!), antique money boxes... for further details please refer to my profile page. I'm currently having a lot of fun collecting items relating to the 1936 Olympics. In the past I've traded coins for stamps, medals, firearms, banknotes, militaria and even some very "off the wall" stuff. I'm not greedy or hard to deal with and always open to a fair trade. Got something interesting that's outside of your scope that you'd like to turn into nice collectible coins? Let's talk!

To give you a some ideas and some indication of what I'm looking for here's a few of the things I've taken in exchange so far in 2019. (with sincere thanks to my various partners!)

From top, 1697 Crown, partial 1800 Maundy set and a vintage aluminum "plane" clock.

You look like a serious collector who knows your stuff... I'm not in your league but do you have any interest in coins from Alderney? I have a set (23 pieces) of sterling silver coins that I'm ready to swap. Let me know.

Thank you Sir, you're too kind. I've opted out of the IoM and Chanel Islands to concentrate on the pre decimal issues I grew up with. Currently 1707-1967 but I'm giving some serious thought to selling of my largely complete KGVI and QEII parts. Maybe it's familiarity breeding contempt but the rather bland issues of 1937 - 1967 are just not as appealing to me as the earlier coins.

Appreciate the offer though and if in the future you should find yourself with early UK coins to swap I'll be delighted to talk to you about them.

UPDATE:

I've finally finished purging my swap list of junk, removing "ghost" coins from long dead trades and updating the grades and prices in the comments field. In general, modern coins are UNC and older coins are above average for the period / type, I don't see any point in having dozens of heavily worn G-VG Victorian Pennies clogging up the works. With coins ranging from 25c upwards there's plenty for both the novice and experienced collector, and you will be treated with the same courtesy and respect no matter what your status - I don't care much for numismatic snobbery. If you've never swapped before I'll be happy to guide you through the process at a speed you're comfortable with, if you are unsure how to grade your coins I'll help you with that too, even if we're not making a swap. I'm very big on mentoring.

Now that everything is current it should make swaps / sales much easier as you can see at a glance what's on offer - go ahead give it a try. I don't bite, I'm pretty easy to deal with and always prepared to be very generous if you have truly outstanding coins to offer.

Anything falling short goes into junk bins which are sold off in bulk roughly once per year at very attractive prices. These are always snapped up within hours of posting them so watch carefully, it's getting close to that time of year! Later than the usual New Year event as 2018 was a pretty low key, inactive year for me. Probably end of May, early June.

For many years I've focused on British coins 1707 - 1967, (Act of Union to Decimalization) but I'm finding earlier issues more and more interesting so I'd like to extend my collection to include more coins predating 1707. In order to fund this it's very likely that this year I'll be abandoning the period 1937 - 1967 which is substantially complete, including all the key dates and in high grades. If anyone is in a position to take this in it's entirety I will listen to what you have to say very carefully. Failing that I'll probably just add it all to my swap list, maybe even give eBay a try for those completed series.

Thank you for the responses so far, apart from the usual PayPal cash / junk silver, I have filled several album slots, added a decent grade Charles II Farthing and a very nice souvenir postcard from the 1936 Olympics (see below). If you have any of these or the Winter Relief Fund cards I'd be happy to make a fair trade.
