I recently bought this and it had a lot of green and crud -SO- I cleaned it. If I did not the green would have eaten the coin away. I understand there is no value left. 0:)

I would like to add this to my collection with a correct grade. Thank You. Ed :P

Give me a grade for the coin and I will PM you with how I did it. Ed

I forgive you the cleaning...:8D

Tough one. VF 30 - XF 40. Wear and spotting on the reverse is the detractor and determining factors for me. Beautiful find regardless and I don't think anybody should fault you for possibly saving this coin.
I'd say VF20 or VF30 because at least 95% of the original design is still present but some areas are mostly worn away.
Thanks all for your grades and explanations. I believe EF would be close. My hands and vision is bad . Ed

gVF with weak strike, but cleaning it was not wise. Better for a coin to be in original rather than cleaned condition.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

Thank you Moneytane – I will change grade to VF that seems like more fairer.

I thought long and hard about cleaning this coin before I cleaned it: This coin and my whole collection is going to be put in long storage for 30 years for my daughter to do with as she wish to do.

I thought about sending it to a Conservator at NGC (NCS Conservation)– but the cost would be more than the coin is worth. So I cleaned it. 30 years from now – They will be the judge but they will have a coin to look at. THX Ed

Thank you apuking - it was hard for me to clean because of bad vision, I have a microscope, that helps. Ed
