It's fake for sure, man.

The reverse says in Chinese at the top, Shangtung instead of Hupeh.

I stay away from Indian, Japanese and Chinese coins as much as possible because there are so many fakes around.  I bought a George V Indian Rupee off an internet auction site once and it turned out to be a base metal slug that had a thin siver veneer stuck over the top.  It's the same with the postage stamps.  Unless you really know what you're doing it's best to stay away from them.
Thanks for your help.  These coins belong to a friend of my son's. I collect US coins and he asked me if iwas interested in these coins.  Thanks to you guys and can let him know I have no interest.
