Dutch Republic Duit (Netherlands) identification help [solved]

5 posts
Need some help with the ID on this one. Very rough copper coin that I'm guessing is a Duit from the Netherlands (Dutch Republic). Can't seem to find it in the catalog here, but I did find some similar ones in the 1590-1689 range with the same or similar Netherlands' virgin inside a fence, pointing to the sky. "NOS" legible. Other side has a single lion in a shield, with very little of the lettering legible. Maybe "HOL..." or "HOD..." or "HODAEZE..." If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Copper, ~25mm. Thanks!

First image has lettering
AVX NOS IN NOM DOM
Auxilium Nostrum In Nomine Domini

Yes, a Holland coin, though not Dutch Republic but Spanish Netherlands ...

Spanish Netherlands - Holland - Gulden (1506-1581)
1 Gulden = 20 Stuivers = 40 Groot = 80 Oorden = 160 Duiten = 960 Mijten

1 Oord (2 Duit) (1/2 Groot) (1/4 Stuiver) (1/80 Gulden)
Felipe II [Philip II of Spain 1527-1598]
1574-1579
Obverse lettering: PHS D G COM HOL Z ZEL
Philippus Dei Gratia Comes Hollandiae Et Zelandiae
Translation: Philippe, by the Grace of God, Count of Holland and Zeland

The certain lettering I made yellow, and the green is missing or maybe.
On top of the second image is where the date (red) would have been, divided by the crown.

Welcome to the site. :)

Wow! Thanks for the extremely detailed help. I am doing research for a project and will definitely include you in the credits if you like. If so, I just need to know what name (or nickname) you would like to appear there. Really cool site. Thanks again.
