This page has to be made a standard circulating coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces143983.html

The year 2003 is rare but the "One other example known at Royal Mint Museum." is bullshit.
Is there no Falklands ref?

There is, but subject of these coins is entirely different, why the merge?

I think it says the subject is different, but the design seems to be the same. I have the same coin from 1999-2000 same design. But different busts of the Queen. I think the 2003 and 2004 have the same design...and I agree that the note needs to go.

I have now made changes to the first post of this topic. The 2003 and 2004 coin should in fact have different pages. The 2003 one is a standard circulating coin with a reeded edge without lettering. The 2004 coin can be seen as a circulating commemorative coin as it was only issued with special edge lettering highlighting 30 years of Falklands coinage.

The page of the 2003-dated coin should be changed to a standard circulating coin instead of a commemorative. The remark about there only being one other known piece should be deleted too as that is bullshit.
Up!
I've only just been made aware of Euromunt's comments. The Public Engagement & Information Officer at The Royal Mint messaged me with the information. I can't paste it in because of the restrictions applied to such messages.
I believe I can say this. From my information, from RM files that 5,000 1p to £2 were struck dated 2003 for a Company who intended them to be made up into year sets for the European market. Specimens of these coins are in the RM collection. The Royal Mint provided the commission coins only, with no further involvement. The rest is unknown, and with at least one other specimen now coming to light, where I have stepped in is the start of the story's unravelling.
So far as the 'bullshit' aspect is concerned; I'm not thin-skinned, we are all capable of some straight talk and no less myself. But while the story unfolds perhaps some moderation might be sought in the name of simple common respect? If really necessary I'll ask the RM if they will permit the information or a confirmation of the RM museum's collection specimen(s) if I am not to be believed. I simply stated that it was the only other specimen known because when I put that, it was the position. I might add that in nearly sixty years of collecting and writing about coins I've never been perfidious. If seeking the story (with some success so far) picks up more of such comments then so be it and if the lack of moderation so permits I shall indulge, and roar very concisely too. (If I can be bothered. I would rather spend my time with my coins rather than 'whack-a-mole' semantics). I originally saw Numista as a source of information, exchange and debate of like-minded numismatist folk inclusive at every level of involvement, or have I got it completely wrong?
Well that is certainly interesting!

I am fine with the comments about how many exist (although I do think the year-lines should be merged--the example at the museum probably does not need its own line). But I would agree that this is probably not a commemorative coin, seeing as how the edge is not lettered. However, if these were minted for a company, I guess the status should be changed to Non-circulating coin rather than Standard circulating coin.
