New Numisdoc - Countermarks

Hi everyone,

A new Numisdoc is starting right here on countermarks. If you want to contribute, just send me the details and I'll upload them.

Of course, picture copyright principles keep applying for this section. :D

So I guess that means the Mozambiquan page I reported is now taken care of? Fantastic. :`

Just one question; is this Numisdoc only for countermarks (as in official ones like this) or are privately made chopmarks also welcome?

For now both could be added even if official ones are preferred. :D

By private marks, if you're thinking about Chinese chopmarks :P, a separate Numisdoc would be better otherwise it will become impossible to manage. (8

Is this for countermarks or for countermarked coins? If we add a countermark to this gallery, do we delete the related coin in the catalog?

We're targeting countermarks.

A coin with the countermark could be used for illustrative purpose but this Numisdoc is not a replacement for the catalogue, the goal is more to be informative and gather all countermarks in one place.

The link of the section in the Numisdoc can be put into comment section of a coin file in the main catalogue and the other way around we can put in the Numisdoc some links to coins in the catalogue.

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll dig around and see if I have something for you. ;)

I was thinking more like private countermarks (like initials for example), but Chinese chopmarks certainly fall into the same category for me!

For now, I guess we can add both official and private. If too many marks pop up for one country, we may later split that into several Numisdocs per country still with links in between the Numisdocs.
