Love token moron

I found a love token in a bulk lot recently. If you don't know what they are, it used to be a tradition to flatten one or both sides of a coin, engrave it with your name or initials and give it to the girl you're courting for her to wear (kind of like the more modern tradition or giving a girl a promise ring).

This one was on a William III sixpence. The guy that made this one was pretty inept, he didn't flatten the side that he engraved properly and some of the original design shows through, also he didn't plan out his engraving properly and he ran out of room to engrave his name (I. Black) and he had to add the "k" of his name above the rest of it. I'm guessing by the fact that he didn't drill a hole for it to be worn, that this item never made it to his loved one. If he did offer it to her she'd probably dump him on the spot ;)

What? Me Worry

To give the token's creator some benefit of the doubt, maybe its intended recipient was Irish? :O
Ha, possibly, the engraving is at a 90 degree angle to the portrait to put the Irish harp at the top.
