Fun at the Goodwill

I am not normally into ancient coins, but I thought I'd share this with my friends here on Numista that might be.
There is currently an auction on the Goodwill website of uncleaned Roman coins. Looks like fun if you into that.
Take a look:

It's funny what people donate to the Goodwill.
Here is another fine example:

Secondly, does anyone know exactly what these are? And value?
None of the links are working for me...

Same here, maybe a screenshot?
Links work fine for me
Maybe you have to be in the USA to access the web site.
Here are the pictures:

second listing

Thanks Ken, in that case the coins in the second listing are mainly Bhutanese debs, though I see a British India 1 Pice in there too (the coin with the big hole) and a Hong Kong 10 cents coin.

Value ranges depending on variety for the Bhutanese coins I'd imagine, but generally you can find them for 10 euros (less if you're lucky). :°
Thank you Ken and Cass.
I appreciate your thoughts on it.
I would be curious if someone from Numista were to win either auction.
Love spending time in random Goodwill or Salvation Army stores. I try not to buy things as I am a "compulsive collector" :O but I've never stumbled upon coins in person...I don't think I could resist....

PS: didn't know Goodwill was online....good to know ^.^

If I could get some help on this one I would appreciate it. I mostly only collect silver coins, and at a lower price I would have been willing to bet that a few of those were silver, but at the price it's getting up to, I am less willing to bid without a little more certainty.

Thank you
Can confirm, there are at least two silver coins in that lot, the Tibetan tangkas in the upper left of the fist pic, as well as what looks like a silver Nepalese mohur in the upper left of the penultimate pic there.

Happy bidding. :8D
In your opinion, about what do you think this is worth? The whole lot, as well as just the silver?
The current bid is $35.50
The Tibetan coins are nice, I like the design of their coins
What? Me Worry

I wouldn't worry about value too much, you can always split out and resell the stuff you don't want to subsidise the coins you do want.
What? Me Worry
With Goodwill auctions, I worry about cost/value. Please don't get me wrong, the Goodwill does a lot of good work, and are commendable in that. I've seen things sell on the Goodwill website for double or triple what it may sell for on eBay. Right now, a lot of two US silver eagles, a 1998 and a 2016, are selling for $65.

There are two novelty coins, the three inch one you see at truck stops for $2, selling for over $850. These are worthless toys!! I've emailed the Goodwill in this case and told them to pull this auction because it is plainly unethical.

So, with that, what would you figure a fair value/price would be on those Nepalese-Tibetan coins I was asking about a few posts up?
Thank you
I got my Tibetan tangka for between 10 to 12 euros, while I'm not sure about the mohur; the copper Tibetan and Nepalese coins in that lot worth around 5 euro each I'd say.

Also, a self-correction; only one is a Tibetan tangka, the other silver coin under it is also Nepalese.
There are, that I can identify, at least 6 Tibetan or Nepalese coppers, so there is $30 value, and the silver coins for about $10 to $15 each, right? Or about $50 to $60 for the lot, plus what I couldn't identify?
So I would have no problem keeping what I want and recouping the majority of what I spent, so long as I keep my bid in about that range, maybe a little more?
I am reviving this thread for another lot I've found.
I've been watching this one, and I cannot figure out what people are seeing in these photos that have shot the bidding up to nearly $600 for a 9 pound lot of coins and some paper money.

Does anyone see what the big deal is in this lot?
nope.
I collect anything: If it's Italian or Italian states i collect it even more!
I certainly can't see a $538 value. Mostly common modern junk and I see only a few coins even worthy of any interest. The banknotes are pure trash. It's hard to know what people are thinking, but I wouldn't have even considered bidding on it about $500 ago.
I wouldn't touch those auctions with a 10 foot pole. Something fishy. Counterfeit / fake coins? Shill bidding?

You're better off going to the local Goodwill and look at the coins before you buy them. Or stick with ebay if you like auctions?
