This is a different shape from all of the Thai bullet money I've seen. I'm leaning toward some kind of decoration or jewelry.
Yeah, it could be.

According to the pic above I think it has krut sign.

Hey Damian,

Here's my opinion for what it's worth; I'm not a collector of these bullet coins, but as a historian I think the pre-1782 Siamese dynasties should be included as currencies under the Thailand issuer rather than issuers of their own, like how Persian and Chinese dynasties are listed under Iran and China - Empire.

Of course I might also make an argument that dynasties should be listed as third level issuers in their own right (especially with regards to the Chinese ones, some of whom co-existed at the same time and ruled over different territories), but until that happens, I would rather see Ayutthaya coins as a currency in Thailand for consistency. ;)
Hi Cass,
In my opinion Ayutthayan or Rattanakosin Kingdom should be placed as issuer under Thailand. I think they should be placed same as Celts, Netherlands, Persia, Livonia or even Poland. I spoke with Jarcek about it and he said that referee for Thailand should decide. So I wait.

A lot of the reproduction coins have a hole like that, they are real silver but a lot were made in the 1900's, I have not seen this coin before, hope this helps.
Sorry I did not check the forum.

I also have the idea that Thailand should be splitted into "Siamese states". As you can see, modern Thailand in loacted on the center of South Ease Asia, there were many different currencies used in pre-Thailand states. Horseshoes ring silver of Northern states, Boat money of Northeast, Tiny seed silver of the south, Pre-Sukhothai flat coins, Sukhothai bullet money (which differ from Ayutthaya Bullet coins), etc.

However, I never see the piece you posted and that's why I said it's more likely Jewelry.

The history we learn in our school is too focus in the monarchy and be too different to some said by historians. For example, monarchy-based history said Thailand lost large territories in the modernization time, but the fact that Northern States dissolved and became the territory of Siam by a treaty between UK and France. Indian Rupee was the main currency in Kingdom of Chiang Mai before it became territory of Siam. Pattani and Satun in the south were Malay Sultanate states which were not given to the British.

The problem is I do not own a book of Siamese states coins, which will be the probem if we splitted into several issuers here.
