Last Saturday several thieves attacked a small coin shop in Cirencester and captured 2 sovereigns and a commemorative coin with the portrait of Lady Di.
Because the department store was not properly insured, the owner and several of his employees vehemently tried to stop the thieves by smashing up their getaway car. The local police were too drunk to intervene due to the annual Christmas party and so the robbers were able to escape.
The case is now being investigated by Scotland Yard.
I would have taken that free ticket and bashed it up a bit more if I had been around. The guy with that wrench was very ineffective imho and I bet those shoppingcart grandpas didn't do much damage too.

A spokesman for Cirencester Police revealed the Citroen was a hire vehicle.
He added: “It’s believed the driver and passenger were involved in an incident inside the store moments before the collision, where a person was challenged by the store’s security after attempting to steal gold coins.
"Officers are continuing to work to locate the vehicle and its occupants."
I don't see any aggressive mob, I see a family protecting their own property from slimy villains. As the official spokesman of the 6th Avenue Coin, Diamond and Rice Puller Club (Worldwide) we applaud these efforts.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.
