Coin photography

Hello all!

I just wanted to share a method for coin photography. This isn't new but, since I don't have a camera, I take all photos with my iPhone 5S.

I got a ring light for my phone.

Except I use it backwards.

They are very cheap and are a great light source.

Here are some photos I took

Hello,

It looks really great. Very nice pics.
That ring light thing seems to do nice job. Does it work only with smartphones or also with cameras? My phone has a pitiful camera (I never take pics with it, pics are so bad) and my camera is old and not doing so great at taking pictures of coins.

The device has a button to turn on and increase light intensity. It does not connect to phone in any way, so you can use it for whatever you want.

Wow! That’s a great tip.. thanks for sharing.. coin photography is something that every collector should master.
Thanks for sharing, I think someone brought up one of those lights on my enquiry about taking coin photos.

After attempting to take good coin photos in this mood lighting-lit hotel room I think I can appreciate your ring light's usefulness. ;)

Went out to look for one today, no luck. :(

Although now I figured out I can just take coin photos in the bathroom instead (which has better lights).
