Here's a sweet little coin--around 10mm with a lion or gryffon on the front and what appear to be pyramids or mountains on the back. Aside from the date it has no markings to help sort its identity out.
It is #34 right down near the end of the page. The ring it has been embedded in is for sale at $1,595
Description: Guatemala Silver Quarter Real Coin Ring. Date: 1888. Obverse: Long rayed sun over smoking volcanic mountains, date below. Reverse: Crowned, rampant lion. Mint: Guatemala.
Thanks. It is KM# 156 Guatemala Standard Coinage ( 8 Reales = 1 Peso )
1/4 Real 1887-1888 0.835 Silver 0.0207oz. ASW
Obverse: Mountains with short-rayed sun Reverse: Rampant lion left
P.S. I have sent in an amendment request; there were no descriptions on the above page, otherwise lion mountains in a search would have found it sooner.
