Exchanging foreign coins - the sequel [solved]

Hello,

A few months back I posted about having a whole bunch of circulating, modern foreign coins lying around with no numismatic value that I wanted to have exchanged for cash, and now I find myself in the same situation again.

Except this time the coins I find myself having are not "common" foreign currencies (like US dollars or British pounds) that I can offload on friends going on holiday, but coins from currencies that are lesser used outside the countries they're from, including: Czech korun, Swedish Kronor, Polish złotych, Russian roubles, Danish kroner, South Korean won, Singaporean dollars, Malaysian ringgit, South African rand, and more.

If anyone has ideas as to how I could exchange them within the Eurozone (banks, niche services, etc.) then I'd be happy, thanks! :`

I am rather interested in current South African rands as collectible items, maybe we can make a deal?

Well, they're all really humble coins, and I don't have that much rand either, but I have them listed in my collection on Numista- you can see what types I have there, and we can figure something out if you're interested.

Just in case anyone else is interested in modern coins/notes, here's a full list of all the modern currencies I have for swap/exchange:

Canadian dollars
Australian dollars
New Zealand dollars
Swiss Francs
Danish Kroner
Norwegian Kroner
Swedish Kronor
Russian roubles
Polish złotych
Hungarian forint
Croatian Kune
Czech Korun
Turkish lire
Indian rupees (some notes available)
Thai Baht
Chinese Renmenbi
Macanese Pataca
South Korean Won
Singaporean Dollars
Indonesian Rupiah
Philippine Pesos
New Taiwan Dollars
South African Rand
Malaysian ringgit
Emirates dirham (some notes also available)
Seychellois rupee

Some of them, particularly the ones near the bottom of my list are worth so little that it's actually not worth the postage to send them to be exchanged, so I'm looking to swap them instead. All coins are listed in my collection.
Cleaning collection from cheap modern coinage is a nice thing :) I might need to make one too in the near future.

A very nice thing indeed, for the first time ever, since I began using Numista, there is a noticeable dip in my collection graph:

Have gotten rid of over 100 circulating coins (mostly British and American) in the past week, now looking to lighten the ship some more! ;)

That's the necessary evil! Evolution of the collection

A numismatic roller coaster! :D

druzhynets: Oh sh... I should show mine

CassTaylor: I am in Czech Rep., so I could use the Czech crowns here. Depends on how much it is, if there are just few coins, it may be not worth it anyway.

I only have 58 CZK (around 2.2 euro), so probably not worth it. :(

Consider this thread an offer to swap as well as exchange, for anyone interested in modern coins. :`
At first glance, it almost seems you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel here. My first thought was why not share the holiday spirit by simply gifting these coins to someone you think will enjoy them like kid collectors just starting out. I’m sure you must know a local coin fair which invariably will have a kids section to it

but then again, I may have misunderstood what “humble” and “not worth much mean”. So out of curiosity, how much are we talking in total USD if you combine all these coins together?

A fairly substantial amount; in Singapore dollars alone, I have a face value of $12.40 USD; then there's my Swiss francs, worth a bit over 18 USD alone as well.

A few of the facially-worthless coins also come from interesting countries like Mozambique and Zambia that I thought world coin collectors here would be interested in swapping for.

right, so how much as we talking overall... $200 worth or more?

Not quite that much either, I'd say around $60-70 USD right now. It was a little under $100 before I exchanged my pounds and USD with friends earlier this week, and I haven't bothered counting currencies worth next to nothing (e.g. my kwachas).
Hmm, I could take the US, Canadian, Singapore and Indian currencies as I’m always in one of these countries. I’ll pay you face, but you foot the postage

I would take the UAE Dirhams as well

Hello,

Thanks everyone for your interest and offers; all the coins have now been taken (with the exception of a few that turned out to no longer be legal tender x.).
