There were a few pictures from people I know who weren't asked and many of my own uploaded by the same user to uCoin with out permission.
After asking them to take them down they complied quite fast ... unike Collnect.
In principle, it's perfectly possible (and legal) for someone to upload their own picture of a coin to Numista, and then turn around and upload the same picture to Colnect or uCoin or whatever.
It's far from the only such scenario, of course, and outright picture stealing is probably more common, but we should remember that this is also a possibility.
(And incidentally, isn't it nice that, despite the direct rivalry, we can mention Colnect here and not get censored? Which would've sounded silly if not for just such censoring going on at CCF.)
Yet another example of the same uCoin user using Numista's picture as one's own. It could be a picture copying robot (or a human acting as robot*). If so, then it is very possible that many of his (?) 21,279 coins have Numista's pictures.
Myabe Numista should do like uCoin is doing - add their own watermark to the pictures (like the Numista N). Then everyone will know if the coins is stolen from this site or not.
