Damaged - Bent - Holed

What do you do with your damaged, bent, holed and such coins? With my home country coins you put them back in circulation (assuming they are not valuable), but what do you do with your coins from other countries?

Do people on here look for interestingly damaged or generally bent pieces for just a strange coin collection?

I started a dead coin book. Just an old 3 ring note book with old coin pages.

Those bent and holed coins do carry a lot of history.
They don't have much numismatic value but there are people out there who collect them.
I'm one of those crazy collectors.

I only buy damaged or bent coins when its an otherwise pricey type that I could never afford normally....

But even then I refuse to buy holed coins, even if I found a holed Flowing Hair Dollar at a good price (well, maybe if it were a really good price I would consider it). Damage can be overlooked, solders can be removed, etc. but once a hole is put in the coin, it's there forever.

When the same coins are easily obtainable in better quality (such as US 1 cent), then I really do not know what to do and sometimes I put them in my secondary collection (see a photo in this thread). But when the coins themselves are more interesting (for example, when they are old), then I would like to exchange them against similar coins of similar quality, so I put them on my swaplist. (Although I did not manage to make any such swaps yet. )

If it is a cheap simple modern coin it is going to a trash bin. If not it is going to a special box, but I think this box will also be empted to a trash bin too...

but twice I went with such coins to the park and throw out some 18-19 centuries coins there. I hope somebody was happy finding them.
