Your favorite grading service and why (updated in light of Registry changes)

Guys, I'm at a loss at this point.  I intended fully to submit a whole bunch of my modern coins for slabbing by either NGC or PCGS, and to be able to compete in their registry for certain series I collect.  Now, though, it sounds like people are jumping ship in light of registry changes, and it sounds like it may be less fun to participate now.

That got me thinking about perhaps just saving some money, and using ANACs to grade my world coins.  I don't like that they don't have edgeview holders, though, since most of my modern coins (German silver especially) have edge lettering.

So with that in mind, what should I do?  I know the old trope that NGC does better with world coins, but is there an argument for PCGS, or another TPG I'm not mentioning?
We recently had a member do a presentation on grading services at the local coin club. Most members are dealers and seem pretty knowledgeable on the subject. I came away with the impression that PCGS was considered #1 (they also seem to grade the toughest) followed by NGC and ANACS. Keep in mind though, most of the coins discussed were US silver and older copper pennies and not world coins.
I have just one PCGS slab and they have clear edge holders. If you look at the edges of this coin, the holder is visble

I do only NGC and PCGS, but which one is better, I don't know.
If you haven't already sent the coins for grading you might want to pause before choosing ANACS.

eBay used to recognize 4 grading companies: PCGS, NGC, ICG & ANACS. They have recently announced they will only acknowledge coins graded by PCGS and NCG, effectively lumping ANACS and ICG with the basement slabbers.

In eBay terms this means that coins from ANACS can no longer be sold as certified or having a numerical grade which will have a serious impact on prices.

I'm sure that ANACS will fight this tooth and nail but I can't help but think that it's karma paying a visit because of their associations with the TV coin hustlers and their "relaxed" grading standards.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Now that I actually looked in to grading services, I see that ANACS is really the best choice, especially for world coins.
My favourite grading service is my own experience in combination with a magnifying lens.

Excellent, I've the same opinion. Why waste money on lousy companies (money you cant invest in new coins (!)) when you can do it yourself. It only takes some time to learn it.

Yeh, but I thought we were talking about grading services to pay for. In general, I agree with you two.
