Hello,
After the following post on the french side, I was wondering if we should merge the Saxe-Saalfield and the Saxe-Coburg-Saalfield under a single issuer (named Saxe-Coburg-Saalfield) : https://fr.numista.com/forum/topic75337.html
The design of this heller minted under the Saxe-Coburg-Saalfield didn't change from the one minted under the Saxe-Saalfield.

In fact, only the name of this Duchy changed after the annexion of Coburg : the ruler was still Johann Ernst before and after this event so for me we speak about a single entity here.
We could have a separation inside this issuer for the coins minted when this duchy was called Saxe-Saalfield.
Hello, yes we could think about that but I don‘t see it as a pressing priority topic for the moment.
an article in German but which describes the history of rhe two issuers quite well https://www.meinanzeiger.de/saalfeld/c-kultur/die-linie-sachsen-coburg-saalfeld_a76878

Sure, it's not urgent at all : it's just a suggestion for further improvments.
Thanks for sharing this relevant and detailed article about it ! That helps to understand the chronology and the evolution of those issuers :)

done :-)

Good to know I was trying to figure out how my issuers counting decreased ]

There are almost everyday changes in the issuer list, removed, renamed, added, changed. I wonder why this information is hidden for members.

Oh sorry for that.

What channel of information would you prefer?

Do not need, I made a program to track the changes, I know there are other members doing as well, looks like is something Numista could make simple just adding somewhere on the site.

Good idea
Or something like a weekly email warning if coins in your collections had important changes like issuers maybe?

Can you post your suggestion in the “Numista Website” forum?

I personally think a weekly email with all the statistics would be really interesting and boost user motivation to contribute to the catalogue.

Something like:

This week, XX new coins were added to the catalogue

XX coin pages were modified to be better

Following issuers were created:

xxx

Following issuers were merged:

xxx

Among other changes.

Perhaps also statistics on how many new members joined

But again, thats just my personal opinion

Already tried a bunch of types, never worked.
