I am just wondering but how does someone become Numismatic Referee on numista?
Message someone like Jarek to apply.
Is there like a test you need to pass to prove you are knowledgeable?
Hello !
This topic may answer your question : https://en.numista.com/forum/topic72209.html

You can apply for the countries where referees are needed by sending a private message to a catalog administrator (Jarcek).
After concertation they may or may not accept your request, but that can take times.

Not that I know of!

But I suppose there are probably some basic expectations for applications, like having been a member of the community for some time, being familiar with the coins, history and language of the issuer(s) you're applying for, and being able to come on Numista fairly often to handle change requests. Nothing special.
I’d be quite interested in being the Romania referee but I’d need a little touching up first.
Or Czechoslovakia.
You could be Vice-Referee for Hut River. Help is always appreciated.

I dont know how other referees handle it but twice a month you will have to fill in a report and write down all the changes/edits you did.

No, you don't.

Please don't deliberately spread misinformation.
Is the spot for Czechoslovakia still open?

I recall Jarek mentioning that he's looking for a Czech or Slovak member to take over for that issuer, so you might want to PM him about that. :)

Romania definitely is open, though!

I’d be interested in Romania.

Hello

My best advice would be to start by checking the coins of the countries you are interested in, modify, add info when needed, translate, add coins that are not in there, etc. That gives you a good experience. I see from your profile that you have so far edited 3 coins ... maybe start there :)

Then you ask for being referee.

You can do a lot in the catalogue without being referee yourself.

I have already done 3-4 edits and added 1 coin.
Get those numbers up a bit, and you'll have a stronger chance of getting selected. ;)

Although on another subject it is a little exasperating for me to modify coin pages not under issuers I am referee for... having to wait for it to be verified is the worst part. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the instant verification I get when I modify pages I am referee for. :O

I just think it would be cool to be a referee and help out in the community.

I'd prefer to be Romania referee but anything would do!

I love Chinese coins.
I just know for me it would be a great pleasure to help out on the numista team.

I volunteered, given my previous experience working with Chinese characters while improving the Hong Kong, Kiau Chau, Singapore and Tonkin/Indochina catalogues; but last time we spoke pejounet said that the reorganisation of China - Empire and Republic is still under way.

Where is PJ, by the way?

Hello.
Just try to make positive changes in the directory just like that, without waiting for recognition and some posts. It does not affect anything. You will be pleased with the result.
