Odd Notgeld part II

5 posts

I recently acquired several high-quality Notgeld coins, several of which are uncommon enough to not appear in the Numista catalog. I'd like to set up a page for this coin but I don't have the Funck# for it. Does anyone have that or the mintage? Additionally, this is an undated coin. Does anyone know what year(s) it was minted? It is similar to:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces141279.html

However, the devil is facing the other direction and it says "DER TEUFEL IM DOM", not "DES TEUFELS GROSSMUTTER IM DOM"

Any insights or suggestions would be very appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi, I think it is a special coin for the „Straßenbahn“ which means tram. Greetings

There is one selling online that should be similar.

It is not in Funck. It is listed by Upton in Emergency Coins of Germany (1970). as number 4-8. The 50 pfennig of this variety are numbers 4-6 to 4-10.

The note after the entries: "The above transportation tokens are simular (sic) to the Nurnberg-Furth tokens in character. They are also struck by L. Chr. Lauer."

The firm of L. Christian Lauer was located in Nuremberg and struck tokens and medalets etc.

As a transportation token it is listed by Kenneth Smith in Catalogue of World Transportation Tokens and Passes (1st edition 1967) as Regensburg 780-I (as in capital 'i', not 'one').
Thank you all!

With this information I can put up a new Numista page this weekend.

Cheers!
