From today it will be legal tender; the new 500 Pesos Banknote, with Benito Juarez (just like the 20 Pesos ones which might change in the near future).
It was also revealed that the 200 and 1000 notes will have modifications made soon enough (but security ones only, no design changes announced for those).
Interesting, I feel like this might cause some short-term confusion, since Beni Juarez is also on the blue 20 peso note (~US$1 v. ~US$25). Rumors of this note had already been spreading on Friday

The 20 Pesos Note will stop being printed as today.
It has been revealed that it will be permanently replaced with 20 Peso Coins.
The other notes will also be updated; first there will be 1 or 2 series with new security features and then the designs will be changed to gradually introduce a completely new Banknote family. So it is the goodbye to our current designs and the 20 Peso note.

Quote: "KennyG"Do you think the new 20 peso coin be the same size as the heavy 20 peso commemoratives?
It looks like BdM updated the site today to include Series G.
Most likely they will.
Maybe they even will be like the 2 Euro coins, changing every year; but we'll have to wait for an official announcement.
