A lot is being said over which tags to add to the selection list (https://en.numista.com/forum/topic71169.html), but nothing is yet being discussed over when adding a tag is OK.
Lets take a tag "fish" for generic example. As already pointed out in the topic above, there should be one level of tags only (but I think sooner or later this will go deeper, I guess we also understand the translation english/french as a small obstacle behind-the-curtains). Generally we can see object-fish tags as:
- fish as being a main integral part of a side of a coin - with specified type of fish (eg. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces21882.html)
- fish as being a main integral part of a side of a coin - no specified type of fish (eg. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces142685.html)
- fish as being a smaller part of a theme on a side of a coin (eg. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1973.html)
- fish being a smaller part of a theme, but still an important integral part of the theme, like fishing business, FAO (or better WFC or WCFS) or something (eg. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces4150.html)
- I am sure someone else will come up with other meanings of fish on the coins...
My general question is, where do we draw the line on tagging?
Best regards, miki
