Is that Greenland set by any chance from the same maker (Joseph Lang)? I know he likes making fantasies, I've seen his creations for places like Cabinda.

I was lucky, I got mine for about 90 euro from a dealer who didn't really know much about foreign coins.

A side question though; how would you grade my coin?

Date is actually worn away, but given that the 1903 date (actually struck until 1928) is the most common, with almost 9 times the amount of the other dates combined, I am going with that as my guess.

These early Ethiopian coins were minted in Paris, as evidenced by the privy marks.

I asked because there's a vast difference in pricing (at least according to Krause) between VF and EF. 200 dollars' worth, in fact... which is why I'm hoping it could make EF.

But even if we go conservative and say it's VF, I still got it on the lower end of the expected price bracket. Hooray me!

I regret only that there were no half crowns or crowns from Fiji. Not sure if I like their coins' aesthetics though; they seem to be going for the minimalist approach on their reverses, but on the other hand the portrait of George V used is one of my favourites.
