Recently acquired what I believe to be old Japanese coins

5 posts

i recently acquired 10 of these which I discovered appear to be old coins. Posting two of the first 10 to hopefully learn something about how to identify what these are.

They are in various condition.
These are the smaller of the to. About slightly larger than a US nickel

posting all pics here in the comments
Welcome to Numista!

Your coins are not Japanese, but rather Chinese; they were all issued under the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). However, I strongly suspect the coins on the left (bottom?) column in your second picture to be modern replicas, while the rest seem to be more authentic.
