1858 Canada One Cent with Upset Dies - going up for auction

2 posts
This is a heads up for collectors.
I'll be entering this coin (certified F-12 July 2018) in the October Torex auction by RCNA.
I do not meet Numista's requirements to post it for sale here (no swaps).
About the coin: Although you may have seen in Charlton & Krause that there are three (3) certified such coins, (mine is now the 4th) the reality is a bit different. I contacted both Rob Turner, who knows of two of them, and the owner of the 3rd. Rob Turner said he recalled seeing two graded EF going through an auction: one sold, the other had corrosion and did not sell. The owner of the 3rd one, Meloche who posted it on here in 2013, had his coin authenticated by NGC but not graded due to condition.

The coin has nice toning, there is a die gouge on reverse on prongs of "E" in CENT, with dies alignment set at about 170 degrees (ICCS packaged it to show the obverse aligned correctly, and the reverse is off).
