I've drank too much port and forgot - please help
Marie Claire, I think. Or the sower, la semeuse.
its embarassing, i new that but was trying to explain who she was and could not remember for the life of me cheers bam
Don't be embarrassed, I was just wondering about her and you asked for me.

I think it would be nice if we gathered about 10,000 coins of her and made a beautiful nickle statue, or just get some nickle and make a statue.  In fact it would be awesome if there were statues made of the women that are on coins. anyone want to help me start making statues? All I need is the money for a foundry and a bunch of copper and nickle, $100,000.00 or so and you could be the owner of some nice statues!  Really though, why are there no statues of these beautiful women that are on our coins?
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
Yes there was La Semeuse by O. Roty, and was there not also Marianne? Different beautiful lady I think.
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
Marianne I guess. Found the following detailed info. on Wikipedia.  :D

If I had seen this post earlier,

I too would've said Marianne and La Semeuse. Marianne's usually wing-capped on French and territorial coins and La Semeuse is found on the old French franc coins as well as subdivisional Euro cents. La Liberte's also found on coins seated, like those from French Polynesia and Cochinchina.
