I thought I would make a quick note; the two smaller Chinese fakes on the bottom-left have non-corresponding province names (left has Kiang-nan on reverse but "新疆" (Sinkiang) on obverse, and right has Manchurian Provinces on reverse but " 陕西" (Shaanxi) on obverse).

Obviously everyone viewing this post knows the coins are fake because of the title, but I thought that was an interesting tidbit that a collector of fakes, less familiar with Chinese characters, who ends up with them, might appreciate knowing. ;)
The 2nd coin in the middle row..... I don't think it's what we would normally call a fake. I believe it's a Vasilopita coin?

It's very much a niche interest but to the right collector it's value should exceed the all Chinese knock offs. It's been a few years since I traded my one and only example, can't exactly recall to who or for how much, but I do recall being quite pleased about it.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

thank you Cass i think for us all not familiar with Chinese characters is good to know that there is more signal saying this is fake then only checking weight and if magnet catch. If you want can try to make better photo of them.

**Vasilopitta is a traditional cake/pie made to be portined in the New Years eve among the family members and the quests of the house into which a gold coin or a token is placed .It is supposed to bring good luck all the year around to the person who finds it in his piece. The story of this tradition is said to be as follows:In Central Asia Minor in the Period of Ottoman empire there were many Christians who lived in the area of Capadocia . Those times the soultan placed a tax to all Christians where they had to give all the gold they had to the government. After the gold was collected in a few days the soultan dies , the changes which come makes this gold unnecessary. So the new ruler decides to return the gold to the people. But there was no record to as who gave what. So the priest or the Saint called Vassilis gave an idea which was accepted. The gold pieces will be placed in small pieces of pittas and will be distributed back to the people in random. Probabaly timewise this might have been close to the end of the year. So people received pittas which they cointained their gold given. From those years on it was good luck to receive the Vasilopitta coin placed in a big pitta that was sliced to the name of Christ , the name of the family members and others .Nowadays there are Vasilopitta coins made by the producers of Vasilopittas with the advert of their company. Some used to have a new coin each year where the date of the arriving year .Some avoided the year part to avoid coins left over. Families now usually place a regular coin in the home made pittas. Sometimes even a gold coin if available .In company celebrations the vasilopitta coin corresponds usually a gift of money corresponding as value near to the value of a gold coin to the employee that finds the coin in his slice.

Well,I'm not superstitious but maybe will keep this one as curiosity thanks Phil.
