I need help.
I have a portuguese coin (1 centavo) that looks exactly like the one on Numista (KM#565).
My only problem is that my coin has, what appears to be, a nickel finish, while the one on Numista is bronze.
All input is welcome,
Neil

Neil,
Any chance we could have a photograph to have a closer look? Some bronze coins get "silvered"...are there any bronze coloured bits on the coin?

I will get a photo tonight and post it tomorrow. It does not look solvered - but I will leave that conclusion to the experts.

Or maybe you are right? If it is silvered over - do I still log it as the normal bronze coin in a bad state?

I have many Canada pennies like this and British and south African, most are holed for jewelry, I would say that its in bad shape because of this.
You can actually see some spots that appear that the nickle has flaked off to reveal the copper.
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
Looking for pre 1783 coins

Yes, log it as the normal coin with your personal comments on the coin. I'll upload one of my farthings that has been silvered.
