I recently obtained this Mukalla 1 Khumsi. It is 21mm and weighs 4.1g. I see that there is a variety for the 1/2 Khumsi not listed in Krause. There are no varieties for the 1 Khumsi listed. This coin does not match the image listed in the catalogue, but does not vary as much another purported fake I have seen. Very difficult finding much about this one. Any help would be appreciated. This is an image of my coin.
Thanks. I had not seen the NGC image before. There are images in my copies of Yeoman's Modern World Coins (1972) and Standard Catalog (1985) too and I see more than one variation. There must be a few. The legends on the chiefacoins is very different and based on the comment, I counted that one as dubious. Based on this I am going to assume that my example is real, just a variation.
He noted that it was questioned due to the inscription without any further update. I think it is fair to call it questionable or "dubious" for the purposes of my own research based on that and therefore did not take it into account. There was no offense intended and I don't think any should be taken. Actually would like to hear what his opinion is of my example.
