I was browsing the contest and noticed that the organiser also participates actively with votes.

Arent under normal circumstances the organisers, their relatives and employees banned from doing crooked stuff like that?

Sorry but somehow it gives this contest a negative connotation when the main judge tries to give certain particpants a positive spin.

I haven't entered since the very first event, mostly because of the cheating. You can't get much lower than trying to rig a free, fun event with pretty valuable prizes generously donated by members. Those caught should be named, shamed and then banned forever, not just from the contest but from the whole website. The action taken against these low rent hustlers was pretty anemic so I decided I'd have nothing to do with the event. I love the idea and really wish the cheating had been stamped out at it's first occurrence.

I don't consider any of the organizers since the first one to have acted with anything other than the highest standards of integrity. The problems lie with dishonest entrants, not those trying to manage it.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

I really dont care about the voting of the organiser or any other member and just vote for the coin I like the most. Also I think he always votes some hours after the creation of the topic so people who dont want to be "manipulated" have a chance to vote before him/her (if we talk about druzhynets)?

I share your opinion, Alfonz.
I don't really see where the problem could lie. For which reason couldn't the organizers of MPCC take part to the vote? I mean : their vote don't influence my opinion on a coin or another. I have a (at least, partly) working brain, so do we all (I hope so). I can have my own opinion without looking at what other people are thinking, or at least I am trying, eh.

Nonetheless, I'm pretty new to Numista so I'm not aware of the former editions of MPCC where there were, according to pnightingale, some cheating.
After revaluating ok i give alfonz right. It seems that he never voted directly after the submission to influence the votes. Still its somehow a bit odd.

@pnightingale yes cheaters should be banned.

@choucas in some former mpcc a random stock photo was the winner!!! beside of some fake socketpuppetaccount voting.

Take it easy, hamster. I am not only the organizer, but first of all a member of this community and I do like to take part in this game too. I have ONLY ONE VOTE - same as all of you do!

This is the first time that I organize this competition and still there must be some controversy...

Yes, it's so tempting to vote the first but I usually wait for few hours so that no one 'copycats' my vote.

During this MPCC we had one case where the guy was voting from his daughter's account. He was disqualified from all the rounds of the contest.

Regarding stock photos - I check each and every photo so that I know if it's a real one or not.

I think you shouldn't worry too much about this. I'm sure that 99% of Numista's members enjoy MPCC, and I'm part of it.
Everytime you do something, whatever you do, some people will disagree, but whatever.

A lot of people do enjoy it, but I wish there would be even more people voting! We've crossed the 50 votes mark only few times this year...

Your work in organising the contest is impeccable, Oleg- I'm very sorry you have to deal with rubbish like this after all your time and effort! ;( (keeping track of entries, cropping pics, counting votes, etc.)

It truly makes me angry on your behalf, and I hope some good hard reflection is being done by the offending party here.

MPCC has become non-sensical as the competitions happen too often and the quality of the coins is questionable.
I really can't wait for the Europe section to come. on-line today or tomorrow!
Thanks for organizing the contest Druzhynets!
I'll get you the picture of the 100Fr asap.
I collect anything: If it's Italian or Italian states i collect it even more!
