United Kingdom 1 shilling KM#816a and KM#829 - difference?

Hi folks!

I have a British 1 shilling 1926 but am unable to make out whether it's KM#816a or KM#829. Both look the same to me:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces4928.html (KM#829)

Numista says the effigy was modified for 829 but they both look alike to me. How can I tell the difference between these two "types" (varieties, rather)?

Looking at images on those two links, the letter I in DEI points between teeth on first coin,
and at a tooth on second coin.

just like it does on that sixpence. May be other differences/ways to tell.

You should search and compare better pictures than the ones on Numista

Hi,

you can not really see the differences on the heads, you have to go for the "on dot" and "between dots" differences.
