Are they going to be collecting and destroying all the old coins with Rama IX's effigy?
Even if that's true, I think given their mintage and widespread places I've encountered them, the modern Thai coins with him on them are probably going to remain some of the most common for years to come.

It has not been announced as such but I’m sure that once enough Rama X currency is available that it will happen. Many Thai people are hoarding Rama IX stuff which doesn’t help the destruction rate.
