I suggest that there should be a "worth of collection". With this I mean only coins in circulation. For example, I have a 1 euro coin (still being used), and I register it to numista, in the "your profile" section there could be a box for worth of those coins in total, just because it would be interesting to see.
Here is my post from another forum, I believe it's about the same idea.
It would be interesting to know total face value of your collection calculated in € or $. Of course that would apply only to all currently circulating currencies.
I have a collection of €, CAD, USD... and I calculate face value only for these, althought I also have PLN, HRK, AUD and this value is not to just disregard. I believe this is not so hard to do since Numista is already converting some foreign currencies to EUR.
It would be great to know how much face value money do you have in your collection.

If it turns out difficult to determine the value of the total collection I would also be satisfied with the face value per currency. That seems easier to realise.
I am reactivating this thread as Xavier had said to discuss the topic on this thread.
Personally, I think it would be a good idea since people who collect common circulation coins might want to know the value of their collection, which is mostly determined by fluctuating exchange rates.
Personally I'm not interested at all. I have it my Excel sheet with my collection, and that's enough.
There are so many coins in numista without any values at all, and each value should correspond to the type, sub-type, variant, mint AND year. Much to much effort and work and even not reliable, just for "the sake of it".
Don't ask Xavier for something like that, there are more important subjects

Hi
This is not about "personal opinion value", neither "average Numista value" for each variety, but about the net worth of all active currencies in your collection at this moment.

I would love to see that on the main homepage, but I can see it would be a royal pain with exchange rates & no longer valid (demonitised) currencies.
In the meantime, there is a fairly easy workaround for this:
Go to “My Coins”, towards the very bottom there is “Export my coins”. Click that to open the download menu section.
In the download section, under columns, make sure “Face value” is ticked. Under collection, make sure “Quantity” is ticked.
Then simply download into an Excel-type file. In your downloaded file use a simple formula of face value x quantity. Drag it down to cover each line of your entire collection. For each country, do a quick =sum for your new column.
That will give you the total in for each country in it's native face value. Then you can easily just multiply by the exchange rate as required.
I appreciate it's a bit of work, moreso depending on how many countries you have current currency for.
EDIT: You can also do this for banknotes, except obviously using “My Banknotes” instead of “My Coins” at the start. 😀

Except without being able to download demonetized or not, it's worthless. For example Argentina, I would be adding 500 (Currency Austral (1985-1991)), 0.05 (Currency Peso moneda nacional (1881-1969)) and 0.5 (Currency Peso convertible (1992-date)) for a grand total of 500.55 somethings.
