Here iam with the 2nd topic...
Iam 16 years old and i live in Prilep Macedonia..Iam young collector who started collecting about month ago and then i discovered this amazing site.I have 444 different coins from over 60 countries all around the world.I was wondering if anyone who has coins that he doesnt need anymore or they are damaged he could "donate" them and support me....Im just saying man ..We can make a deal me paying the shippment.
You won't get many donations with this warning on your profile:
Also, for a young numismatist, collecting for "one month", you have very specific and expensive wishes:
I am pretty sure the reason you are suspicious is because the only feedback you have is from a known thief. Many people will probably think of you as a scammer or possibly just another one of his user names.

Busted.
I can't stand beggars, liars or thieves. This guy is a real piece of work.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

I'm still waiting for another reincarnation of the scammer from Zagreb (see my feedback in case you are curious who he is). Seems like they feel that this site is nice for their nasty schemes.
Quote: "VintageCoin"I bought old holed silver coins from a gambler who needed money...so i started collecting that kind of coins...And i dont know why iam suspicious.
I put the warning on your profile.
Reasons:
less than a month of membership;
your profile was created at the same time and is located in the same town than 2 other suspicious profiles;
almost no post on the forum (be it to say Hi or be part of a discussion);
you started collecting one month ago but are selling "very rare coins" (acquired form a gambler );
your first post was about "selling some very rare coins" which I deleted (see minimum requirements to sell through the forum);
your second post is about giving you some coins;
your only rating is from a suspicious profile.
If you participate to some threads and do some swaps with known/reputable members (i.e. not suspicious), then the warning might be removed after some time.

It's refreshing to see the mods being proactive. Thank you for your support pejounet hopefully if we crack down on these grifters they might move on to a new target audience.
May I suggest putting a permanent block on any new accounts created using the same IP address. I'm sure our lying, thieving young beggar is already creating a brand new profile or two now that the jig is up for the first three.
It might be a good idea to send whoever is currently negotiating a swap with this crook a link to this topic before anything else gets mailed to him.

Nice idea, but someone who bothers to create a fake account might as well bother to use VPN :(
I started a swap with him, he even send me photos of the coins... So scammer or not, he have the coins that he told. I cancel it because I don't like the coins, but I don't know, if someone wants to swap with him, let him sent the coins first and there won't be any problems I think
Kristian
Everything in my collection can be sold if it would make someone happier than me :)

I’m wondering whether you are allowed to post this picture here: maybe someone will recognize their stolen coins.

@Matt: Thank you for the kind word!
@anybody: If you spot some suspicious profiles, report them:
- using the "Report" button at top right of profile page of a member;
- by sending a PM to any moderator;
- using the report button at right of a forum post.
It helps us moderators not to miss suspicious profiles!

We already discussed (several times) about blocking users with the same IP address. Problem is that same IP doesn't necessarily mean same person. For instance I could have an account for my collection and my mom another one, both using same computer with same IP; i.e. shared computers. However when we know a specific IP address is problematic (i.e. used by one person to create spam accounts, etc.), we may have the possibility to block this specific one.
Moderators can also see accounts using the same IP, and we use this tool to set warning to some related accounts looking suspicious. For instance, this led me to set a warning to a new user profile created with the same IP address as the one we're concerned about here.
Indeed warning members is a good idea! I added a point to our improvement requests list related to your point: an automated message to be sent to members having a pending swap with a partner receiving a warning.
And thank you for the kind word!

I put the warning on your profile.
Reasons:
I recommend not telling the scammers what to do to avoid detection. Am I crazy?
The warning was removed from his profile within a day of me responding to this thread. Apparently, someone doesn't mind his behavior. To anyone who is paying attention, it's obvious what he is doing.

It's still there but you don't see it until you open the coins to swap tab. It would make more sense to include the warning on the profile page too.
