Why was there never a silver 5MK coin? I know that Alexander II did not accept that, but why not?
Interedting question. Perhaps the Russians did not allow it because 5 Mk would be a larger coin than 1 Ruble. Or maybe the Finnish authorities just thought such a large and heavy silver coin is just unpractical.

The second one may be true. Poland had a 1 ¹/² about 1 oz gram rouble coin so your first theory seems unlikely.
