Hello and welcome to my second contest on Numista!
I hope you all enjoyed the first one...that contest is wrapping up right now or will have been wrapped up as you read this!
If you didn't get to play in the first contest...PLEASE PLAY IN THIS ONE!
This contest is called, "What Hemisphere are these Two Coins From?!"
I will be giving away two coins from one country this time...
If you are the winner, I will send them to you free of charge
Contest Rules:
This contest is open to all Numista members, all over the planet!!!
If you one last months contest, you should try to win this contest too HAHAHAHA!!!
Your guess must be posted here on this thread for all to see!
You only get one guess!
Between: Sunday, January 14, 2018 and Sunday, January 28, 2018 ~ Everyone can guess if the coins that I am giving away are from either the "WESTERN HEMISPHERE" or the "EASTERN HEMISPHERE"
Northern and Southern Hemispheres are not going to be eligible for guesses, just a heads up...it's just gonna be either Western or Eastern.
...So, simply put, the first part of the contest will be an elimination round...
For anyone that guesses the correct hemisphere that these FREE coins are from...then all those members will advance to the next round which will be held between: Monday, January 29, 2018 and Monday, February 12, 2018!
The next round will be: to guess what country the coins are from...
Again, this part of the contest will begin in 2 weeks from today, Sunday, January 14, 2018 for those who guessed the correct hemisphere!
Then, whoever guesses the correct country, will go to the third and final round for a tie breaker if necessary!!!
Then...those members will have to guess what years the coins are from!
Whoever guesses closest will be declared the winner!
On Wednesday, February 14, 2018, the winning member will be announced!!!

Please PM me he country they are from so I can guess the correct hemisphere....
I was going to guess east, but so many people have already guessed that, I'll go with WEST!
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Quote: "CassTaylor"Eastern Hemisphere for me
For anyone who doesn't already know, the Western Hemisphere is essentially the Americas, while the Eastern Hemisphere is Eurasia, Africa and Oceania.
"The Western Hemisphere is a geographical term for the half of the earth which lies west of the prime meridian (which crosses Greenwich, England) and east of the antimeridian. The other half is called the Eastern Hemisphere.
In this sense, the Western Hemisphere consists of the Americas, the western portions of Eurasia and Africa, theextreme eastern tip of Russia, numerous territories in Oceania, and a portion of Antarctica, while excluding some of the Aleutian Islands to the southwest of the Alaskan mainland."
I go with Western, since there's so many who guessed East.
14 members guessed correctly!
So that means they all move to the next round!!!
As for the rest of the members who played, thank you and sorry dude and dudets!
You will have to wait until my next contest!!!
So these 14 members may now take one guess as to which country it is that I am giving away coins from!
To the 14 members who advanced:
You have up until: February 12, 2018 to guess the correct county Only ONE guess per member! Members can pick the same country if they want, that's OK (so if someone already guessed the county that you want to guess, than that is OK)
Stay warm, happy collecting and be a nice person

This is what we are doing. One vote per person.
Says the person who also voted 3 times
I'm just saying there is some kind of fun and non-lethal chaos going on in this competition
Maybe our great gaming-leader xblamecanadax can bring some clarity ... as there are still quite some countries left in the eastern hemisphere
Freely quoting our great gaming-leader: Numista rules !
Just call me Bram
No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!
Silver coins were among the first coins ever used, thousands of years ago. The silver standard was used for centuries in many places of the world. And the use of silver for coins, instead of other materials, has many reasons.
