Peru, 1 Nuevo Sol 2001 variety [solved]

Can you help me identify the variety of this 2001 1 Nuevo Sol coin from Peru? Tthe right one on the images; I added a 1993 one for comparison.

The Numista catalog only lists the >>KM# 308.4 (accent above “u” Rev: Without braille)<< type for this year:

This coin has the braille "#1" on top, has no accent above "u", and the shield design seems different than any of the varieties I have from this coin type.

Why would someone counterfeit a coin worth 30 US cents?

I was there in January, and I bought 3 coins, besides a few modern ones I brought back (most of which I traded for beers at my local bar). A spanish era 1686 silver cob that I'm now 99% certain is a fake, but whatever, it was cheap, and still fun to look at. An 1800's Peruvian silver dollar (of the later 50% silver variety) but it wasn't in my luggage along with a few other valuables when I got back home, yay airline baggage handlers. And this cool looking 1968 Un Sol.

Sure counterfeit....are you sure that is copper/nickel?

​If they are made in great quantities, the lot can be worth making. Even in the UK everyday coins are forged

Here another counterfeited 2001 example with braile.. 
Just added it to my collection as “fun piece”.
