I just obtained a coin, and after finally finding it in our catalogue, I read some disturbing words. "English Counterfeit"....
I assume the one I purchased is also.... any input?
Here is a photo of my coin, and a link to our page with it shown:

Thank You

I do not think it is forged.
To be sure, please ask Arie:

I can't access Arie from that page, or don't know how to anyways. That's a very nice coin you have :)
What is the weight of the coin?

According to the dutch catalog the real coins weigh approximately 3 g. The contemporary English counterfeits are made with lighter and thinner planchets.
For those who regard coins as historical documents, a contemporary counterfeit may be just as interesting as the real coin!
@ArnoV just if you paid a decent price for that counterfeit coin

Even though it is considerably worn, it weighs exactly 3g.... I guess that's a good sign. I bought it from a man on a corner in Los Angeles, he was selling crack cocaine, so I figured he stole it, and it was probably real :) haha... just kidding, I paid 6 USD for it :)
6 USD?
Not bad for a coin that is difficult to come by in the US
And if you see the quality and prices here in Europe:

Since we have some access to real ones then should we update the catalogue to show an authentic one? The existing photos aren't fantastic regardless.

Done, just waiting for the change by the moderator

So... How to distinguish the English Counterfeit from the other one ?

Careful to not edidate the picture of the fake one with a real one : we already have two differents pages for them 8.
