United Kingdom farthing?

6 posts
This coin was described as a United Kingdom farthing dated 1846, KM # 725
The reverse does not match the Numista image for that coin: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5501.html
The shield looks somewhat like the silver and gold coins, but the weight is too low - 4.4 grams - and it looks like a copper coin. The diameter is approximately 21 mm.
Thanks!

No, absolutely not the same weight and dimension.

Thanks PetrusAscanus, it does look like my coin, but I don't think it is what I have.

The first problem is that the half crown is described as silver, and I think my coin is copper or bronze.
Where it talks about the head, your link says "It was used with slight modifications from the first of Victoria's coins in 1838 until 1887, and even as late as 1895 on some bronze coins", but the difference with normal farthings and this coin is the reverse side.
The next problem is that the half crown is described (per Numista) as being larger and heavier.

I'm wondering if it is some kind of look-alike token or play money since it is a smaller, less valuable metal. Also, the rotation is really off. The hole is at the 12 o'clock position on the obverse, and at 10 o'clock on the reverse. Would real coins from the United Kingdom be allowed to have a rotation like that?
Thanks
Fake sovereign or half sovereign that lost it's gold plating?
Seen some similar ones.

I collect anything: If it's Italian or Italian states i collect it even more!
That's possible, but would it have fooled anyone? The half sovereign weight is reasonably close, but the reverse has the wreath like the sovereign.
I suppose having obvious differences would allow one to claim that it couldn't have been intended as counterfeit if one got caught trying to pass it?
