So in my study I have this massive wooden closet, bottom of which is very close to the ground, about 2.5 mm above it; just large enough for coins to slip under. I keep my collection in that room, and sometimes I manage to 'lose' coins.
Anyway, yesterday I decided to take a poke around with a ruler underneath there; and lo and behold, I found some nice coins that had gone missing;
1911 Canada (no DEI GRATIA) 1 Cent - George V
1998 Hongkong 20 Cents
1851 Austria- Habsburg 1 Kreuzer - Franz Joseph I
2004 United Kingdom 1 Pound (Forth Bridge) - Elizabeth II
1987 D United States 1/4 Dollar "Washington Quarter"
1977 Soviet Union 1 Rouble (Games Emblem)
1914 Canada (DEI GRATIA) 1 Cent - George V
.....
I'll update the list as I search; anyone else have similar experiences?
I once found 78 Yugoslav silver 50 & 20 Dinars dated 1938. along with various other, post ww2, currencies. I swapped and sold most of them over Numista, they were my first few swaps.
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.

Did you actually found those, or did you found them because you had lost them?

All I knew was that the house was full of "old stuff". Other than the coins I found around a hundred old family photos (a third of which were from the late 19th century, the rest were around WW1 & WW2), some postcards, old jewelry and a sword.

Every time I come back to my "second home" I have plenty of coins waiting for me... sometimes is hard to track what I have purchased or swapped to this address so there is always good chances to find "Treasures" at my desk!
But from time to time I also find coins under some very random places as you did :)
Usually I find foreign/old coins in my sofa or under my closet; there's no way a guest to my house could've dropped a 1851 Kreuzer, so that's how I know I've found a coin from my collection that maybe rolled off some day.
