Today I were in North Korea (yes, I crossed the border...and then went back again ) But, a border crossing is a border crossing, and my whole body were on the northern side of the border for a good 10 minutes. Might not be counted as "visited the country", but I were there!

Some of you may know that South Africa is one of my specialist collections and I had previously been slowly building my low-denomination Union silver pieces but I just had a recent splurge on a couple of crowns and a half crown (and I have 2 more crowns bought and shipped from SA, just have to wait a couple of weeks!)
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.
As most will probably know I'm on something of a hiatus limiting my spend right down on coins. This one was £2.27 including delivery. I couldn't not really, Never seen chop marks on this issue before.
Quote: "Peter M. Graham"This reminds me so much of my Colonial tokens. Simple (VERY) design, brass, and pre-decimal.

More to follow for September.
I just got my first non-Ottoman Islamic coin. An Umayyad Dirham of Al-Walid.
I also bought a few numismatic books, including A Complete View of the Gold and Silver Coins of All Nations by James Ede from 1808. It contains numerous beautiful line drawings of contemporary coins. Here are a few:
#309 out of 370 for my birth year set (circulation coins only with no FAOs/commemoratives/proofs..)
And without hesitation, the new favourite coin in my collection..
France 1969 10 Francs
Did they already sent a list of realized prices? I bid only on one lot but have not received any email yet.

Not yet, It takes a few days for them to put it out.
I normally get the invoice e-mail the following Wednesday/Thursday.
icollector.com (Steve Album's auction portal) has all the realized prices as well as whether you won the lot or not. You should get an official invoice in the email in the next few days...

What a coincidence!
I too have recently purchased the same 1969 10 Francs, along with a 1976 50 Francs, both in UNC
I wouldn't say they're rare, but quite scarce, yes. The population of the Yukon Territory was very small: 27,219 according to the 1901 census; 4157 in 1921 ─a spectacular drop caused by the end of the gold rush─; and 4914 in 1941 (source). This covers the period when those tokens were used.
It is very unusual for trade tokens to be so worn, but they were the most commonly accepted currency in Yukon at the time. See this page for more info.
Nothing special really, but I've been in Japan for a few days now and have doubled my collection. I had 57 coins in my Japan collection before I left, and I just counted to 57 new dates I've found so far.

And this piece which circulated in "New France". Although rated at 1 denier in France it circulated as 2 denier in New France. Of course local merchants saw a chance to make a quick profit and imported them in large quantities. Because of oversupply, the government at Quebec banned them in 1664.
Mine is 1606 A. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces57787.html
Missed out on an Ionian Island piece because I went to lunch with my son and the dealer closed up shop 3 hours early (?).

For my part I finally got a new Charlton catalogue of colonial tokens at the Charlton table. I also picked up two countermarked coins, two SHIPS COLONIES & COMMERCE tokens, and this very cool bread token:

I also took the opportunity of being there, at the Toronto Public Library, to finish my research for my second numismatic article (my first in more than 20 years). The Toronto City Directories
were literally a 30 seconds walk from the Coin Show. Some of you may remember a countermarked coin with the name WARREN. I now have all I need to finish up the paper, for example this:
which shows that the first owner wasn't Howard as I thought, but May Warren, who was perhaps his mother or aunt. After she retired or passed away (probably the latter), an Emily Warren (daughter? sister?) took over, and then Howard. I now have more precise dates for when the store was founded and eventually moved from 958 to 890 Queen East.
