To help create interest in numismatics, what is an interesting coin you put BACK into circulation?

I've enjoyed the thread of what we have taken out of circulation, but how about the other direction, what have we purposely put back?
I was given a bunch of coins today that included a really badly beat up Canada 1943 Tombac 5 cents.. There was enough common coins to make up a roll for the bank, so in the interest of stirring up someone's interest, I'm including that coin in the roll.. (just hoping it escapes our Mint scooping it up and melting it as part of the Alloy Recovery Program)..

I honestly think most of us who are lucky enough to find interesting coins in circulation are far too selfish to put them back into the ring... or maybe that's just me? 0:)
Sometimes I pay using commemorative 2 Polish zloties coins, so that they get into circulation :)

I would never put any Tombac in any condition back into circulation. Just to avoid "our Mint scooping it up and melting it as part of the Alloy Recovery Program". May be 100 years from now in the cashless society this piece would bring you fortune. ;)
Gordon Gekko: Now you're not naive enough to think we're living in a democracy, are you buddy? It's the free market.
My wife carries $2 bills, Ike Dollars and JFK 50 cents in her purse, which are too worn for me to make use of. We add them to tips for especially hard working waitresses or bartenders. Children appreciate them too, especially the big shiny Ikes.

I like to think of it as bringing a bit of sunshine into someone's lives and also seeding the next generation of collectors.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

I do not collect USA coins and have no intention to start. So when I get any in bulk lots I put them into my cookie tin of other USA coins for spending. Mostly I get very beat up cents that I sometimes have to spend a lot of time to even identify as cents or I get relatively cheap worn Indian head pennies. I often put them in the tip collection jar at my local pizzeria.

I don't tend to put them back into general circulation, but I pass them on to someone who might like it.
I will also use $2 bills and Kennedy half dollars for tips (maybe Ikes if I ever found a bunch of them). I might throw some wheat pennies back into circulation at some point; I've got a bag full of common ones and nobody ever requests them in swaps. I could sell them to the coin shop for 3 cents each but that hardly seems worth it.
I find that Buffalo nickels still work in vending machines so I've spent a few that way
The lovely peace dollar.
Several €5 commems, €2 commems and few Swedish silver 1krs. When I have one I'll spend the duplicates. I'm lazy with trades.
Various noncommemorative Euros, for example Latvian, Italian or Irish ones. These coins were interesting when they were still a novelty in Lithuania.

I put about £100 worth of Gibraltar coins into circulation over the last year. It's how I got interested in coins as a child. I found it odd that our queen was on the back of coins from somewhere else.
Yup,
I also try to use two dollar bills, Kennedy halves, and also small dollars.

I rarely run into "extra" Ike dollars, so it is hard to part with them.

Good topic.

My wife and I go to yard sales and estate sales when it is not too hot. I often pay with $ coins and Kennedy halves and am amazed at the number of people that do not know they are money.

I pull out all bi-centennial quarters I find in rolls and put them into a container in my car. One day, when I forget to carry my wallet, I'm going to use them to pay for gas.

You put a peace dollar into circulation? B.
I have spent U.S. presidential, Eisenhower and Sacagawea dollar coins; also, Kennedy 50 cent pieces and 2 dollar bills. And I put a bunch of beat up wheat pennies back into circulation.
never kill a mockingbird: it's bad luck.
Every year one of my Christmas presents to my 4th graders is an Ike dollar. They love them...and most spend instantly. Just like I did.

I'll spend halves, dollar coins, and worn out silver certificates anytime. I'll also put Panamanian coins into vending machines as their weight, composition and value are on par with their U.S. counterparts.
