I just discovered that Whitman made several coin folders for English coins!!!
I've seen one's for half pennies, old pennies, farthings, 3 pence and a few others!!!!
Does anyone have any knowledge on how many types of these books might have been made?
I have to get some or all of them now because I've expanded my U.S. and Canadian coin collection to Mexico and United Kingdom as well.
I never ever knew about these coin books before!
I hope that someday I can get some empty one so I can start to fill them with what I've got!
So excited about this find!!!
I hope that people can show me pictures of them if any one has them out there! :wiz:
But I still like Canada the best!
I am starting to trade again please

I've got stacks of them left over from before I moved my collection into custom made albums.

If anyone wants them for a modest price ($1 each) plus shipping via media mail you are welcome to them.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

I earlier (before amending above list) wondered what the difference was in the two types of
blank folders for the Farthings or Halfpennies, and found this image for #8001 ...

which shows 20 on left and middle, then on right looks like more spaces under the
COIN FOLDERS IN THIS SERIES page - which shows 30 folders in the list, so I guess
the missing two would be the blank 1/4d and 1/2d Commonwealth folders.

I just found what #9672 is - it is for British Commonwealth Farthing Size Coins ...

with the page in there reading >

BRITISH COMMONWEALTH FARTHING SIZE COINS
Many territories throughout the British Commonwealth have issued coins of the same
dimension as British Farthings. This album is designed to house various collections of this size,
including such issues as Irish and South African Farthings, as well as local token issues
from various portions of the Commonwealth and Empire.
No printing appears beneath the openings, and room has been reserved so that the collector
may insert his own legends to fit the requirements of his collection.

I really do admire your enthusiasm for coin collecting, and for that matter your collection itself. While it's not made up of rarities or anything out of the ordinary, the obvious pleasure it gives to you makes it priceless.

I'd far rather have a collection that made me happy than one which made me rich. Well done.

I am interested in coin ALBUMS, not folders! Albums have vinyl sliders on both sides of each coin and the pages are removable individually.

Whitman Bookshelf made these including some for foreign coins.
The ones I want include
GBR Farthings #1 #9530
GBR Farthings #2 # 9531
GBR Half Pennies #2 #9533
Newfoundland Type # 9514
Australian Type Collection Bronze & Decimal # 9527

I also want Dansco Supreme Albums as follows
Canada Type 1953- # 7211
Mexico 50 Centavos # 7225
Mexico Type Pesos # 7720
New Guinea # 7360
New Zealand Type # 7447
Hong Kong Type # 7450
Swiss Confederation Type # 7500
Bear in mind also, that Dansco makes pages with ports in mm sizes, from 14mm up to 55mm.
and unmarked album binders of various capacities.
Not an endorsement for the linked mail-order vendor, your local shop can order them for you.
The pages have no markings, so you would have to print your own labels if you wanted them, which might add to the enjoyment.
Jamais l'or n'a perdu la plus petite occasion de se montrer stupide. -Balzac
I can be happier with Dansco # 7000 albums than using same mm pages. I usually start there while searching for the desired albums. Many times I buy a partially full album and complete it myself.

Those exact same type of folders are also made in New Zealand

Called Bertrand Folders and a new type now made called Propsectus for decimal coins.

They are the staple, but some Bertrands are quite old and falling apart, also old ones are on acidopherous paper.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

Great info on this thread, thanks.

I'm surprised Whitman (or anyone) hasn't created a folder for the small-sized British penny (1971-present).

The customized Danco pages would be perfect except a) they're out of stock at the moment, and b) Brit small pennies are 20.32 mm, too big for the 20 mm and too small for the 21 mm.
